PORSCHE Cayenne注意了！第二代HONDA MD-X來勢洶洶

在全世界車迷的心目中，HONDA與性總是劃上等號，同時也是科技的表徵，於北美地區造成熱賣的ACURA（HONDA北美地區高級品牌）MD-X，不但引領SUV跑車化的風潮，更讓許多對手競相學習。
不過根據AUTONET所掌握到的消息，HONDA已經著手開發一款超級SUV，以MD-X後繼車的身份出現在市場上，並且將頭號對手直接鎖定在PORSCHE Cayenne。預計在2007年左右量產的新MD-X，外型上依舊具備強烈的跑格，當然也會加諸現行車款的設計因子，不過最令人振奮的莫過於動力性能的大幅提昇。過去礙於日本國內280匹馬力的限制，縱使日本車廠早已擁有足夠的技術開發超過300匹馬力的引擎，卻也難以伸展，如今在今年的限制解除後，新MD-X的馬力輸出計畫會達到380匹。
新的動力心臟是以Legend所搭載的3.5升V6引擎為基礎，擴缸200cc成為3.7升引擎，在渦輪增壓套件的幫助下功率輸出將達到380匹馬力與60.0公斤米扭力，較原本的300匹高出許多，可稱得上是日本SUV怪獸級人物；另外頗獲好評的新型四輪驅動系統SH-AWD也將替代既有設計，以期達到on road/off road雙贏的局面。此外，車身重量限制在2200公斤，就馬力重量配置比來看，新MD-X確實具備威脅Cayenne的條件。
