HONDA野心可不小，新CR-V跨級距挑戰！

依照過往的經驗，HONDA CR-V的直接對手應為TOYOTA RAV4、MITSUBISHI Outlander、SUZUKI Escudo等都會SUV，但在開發之際卻是以NISSAN Murano、TOYOTA Harrier為敵手，這好像差太多。

這幾年日本車好像有變大的趨勢，所謂變大，就是車身尺寸向上發展，從輕型車、房車到SUV，尺寸上都增加了一個級距，以都會SUV來說，軸距2600mm已經是標準配置，如此一來才能創造更大空間，甚至也替七人座預留空間，這點從HONDA新CR-V就能明顯看出。

以現行新CR-V的內部空間來說，車室長度與高度分別為1900mm，比第一代多了135mm，較第二代長70mm，雖然與Outlander小些，但若要拓展成三排七座絕對充裕。根據新CR-V的原廠開發人員崛越滿表示，早在開發過程中，新CR-V可是將TOYOTA Harrier、NISSAN Murrano這種車身超過4.7公尺的SUV列為對手，所以並未將TOYOTA RAV4納入。

此外，因新CR-V的線條更為圓潤，就視覺上能營造更大的效果，正因如此，讓CR-V獲得足以跨級挑戰的條件，所以Harrier與Murrano在日本可要小心囉！
