HONDA彈性生產線將促進生產效率。
|
為了增加生產效率，提升Civic房車的產量，HONDA北美打算調整加拿大安大略省Alliston第二工廠的生產線，將利用彈性生產模式，在目前HONDA Ridgeline皮卡貨車和ACURA MDX SUV的生產線中，再加上生產Civic房車。
HONDA原本由安大略省Alliston第一工廠負責生產Civic房車和雙門轎車，以及ACURA CSX房車，因為Civic銷售成績佳，所以HONDA決定讓第二工廠加入Civic生產線，預計之後每年Civic房車的年產量將增加6萬輛；安大略省第二工廠從1998年開始生產車款，原本只生產輕型卡車，但是HONDA以彈性生產線方式，提升整體效率。
Civic目前是HONDA旗下在北美暢銷車款之一，目前HONDA在北美工廠中，生產Civic的工廠包括俄亥俄州East Liberty工廠和安大略省Alliston；除了Alliston原有的第一及第二工廠外，HONDA也將在安大略省增加第三工廠，預計2008年開始加入生產行列，每年將生產20萬具四缸引擎，將增加340個新工作機會。
HONDA加拿大副總裁Jim Miller表示，此次的彈性生產系統，將為HONDA集團帶來更大的利益，也將利用如此效率的生產方式，更貼近消費者和經銷商的需求。
