AutoNet先前才掌握到HONDA改裝品牌MUGEN即將於2009年秋天發表比原廠Civic Type R更強勁的MUGEN Civic Type R，日前HONDA英國再度傳出更加確定的消息指出，歐規MUGEN Civic Type R將在第三季於英國上市，以去年HONDA所發表的Civic Mugen RR概念車為基礎，目標直指FORD Focus RS與RENAULT Megane R26.R。

動力系統將以歐規MUGEN Civic Type R三門版所搭載的2.0L直列四缸VTEC自然進氣汽油引擎為基礎，性能輸出數據為237hp最大馬力與22.1kgm峰值扭力，並且在MUGEN一系列客製化改裝套件支援下，像是全新〝'I-TCMS〞輪胎監控系統、改裝懸吊、BREMBO煞車套件皆能夠承受激烈的操駕；再加上MUGEN Civic Type R輕量化工程，包含移除後排座椅、18吋鋁圈與前排RECARO桶椅，讓MUGEN Civic Type R更具備鋼砲競力。
根據MUGEN表示，MUGEN Civic Type R將限量打造幾十輛，在英國上市之後將於歐洲其他主要市場陸續販售。
