HONDA全新輕型車油耗挑戰34.0km/L，2012年鑑真章

目前在HONDA的輕型車陣容中，共有Zest、Vamos & Hobio、Life等三款，如果與其他品牌相較數量上確實不多，尤其TOYOTA也宣佈進軍輕型車市場之際，且日本輕型車佔有率逐年攀升趨勢，使得HONDA意識到戰力上的不足，因此將在2012年推出全新產品應戰，同時在輕型車普遍油耗平均值約25.0km/L情況下，HONDA將這款新輕型車的油耗目標訂在34.0km/L！
根據了解HONDA這款全新的輕型車將在2011年東京車展亮相，2012年起開始在日本販售，底盤結構與現行的Zest、Life共用，外觀採用高頂設計，提供無壓力的最佳乘座空間，同時配備與機能部分非常豐富，舉凡衛星導航、恆溫空調、可變座椅、遙控電動窗、置物空間都在清單行列中，當然HONDA也提供不少選配讓車主選擇。
動力方面沿用自行開發的658cc直列三缸汽油引擎，輸出馬力在日本政府自主法規下自然進氣版為52hp，渦輪增壓為64hp，不過HONDA針對輕型車依然賦予傳統四速自排變速箱，平均油耗約在21.0-22.0km/L之間，如果與對手採用CVT、怠速停止運轉系統等技術相比稍嫌落伍，且對手平均油耗值落在25.0-28.0km/L之間，經濟性似乎差了一大截，對消費者來說HONDA產品吸引力就較SUZUKI、DAIHATSU來得低，尤其TOYOTA決定要進軍輕型車領域，使得HONDA積極開發話題性高的新車款來應戰，畢竟HONDA是從發動機起家，焉有輸給對手的道理。
不過HONDA的腳步似乎慢了些，雖說要挑戰油耗34.0km/L的成績，但以目前各車廠在動力系統所下的功夫，說不定在2012年市場又有旗鼓相當的產品，屆時HONDA勢必又將陷入一場苦戰。但話又說回來，高經濟性的車款絕對是消費者所追求，因此HONDA若真能開發出高經濟性產品，對其他車廠無非是一大刺激。
