    掌握風的方向才能勝利,HONDA賽車部門發表Indianapolis 500專屬空力套件

Indianapolis 500專屬空力套件
Indy Car是由美國起源的單座艙、Open wheel賽車,由於空力造型使然讓Indy Car與F1賽車之間有著相似的外觀,若非知曉故中差異的車迷很難區別出兩者的不同。與F1擁有全球巡迴錦標賽不同,IndyCar主要收視群眾僅侷限於北美地區,其中具有指標性地位的賽事 Indianapolis 500更是一年一度的重要比賽,與F1的摩納哥大獎賽以及Le Man24小時耐久賽並稱三大汽車賽。

Indianapolis 500專屬空力套件
由於Indianapolis 500賽事必須繞行Indianapolis的高速環狀賽道200圈(總里程500英里),因此賽車往往都在極限狀態下奔馳,以超過300km/h以上的時速連續奔馳200圈。在這樣的高速狀態下,IndyCar在空氣力學方面的要求因此著重於高速表現,低速轉向時的靈活性幾乎可以忽略不計,造就參與Indianapolis 500賽事的賽車往往都擁有誇張的空力造型。

為了角逐即將在4月24日起跑的2015年Indianapolis 500大賽冠軍,位於北美的HONDA Performance Development研發中心便針對使用HONDA動力的Dallara賽車開發專屬空力套件,期望能夠延續自2004年以來的第11次冠軍獎座。透過電腦軟體輔助與全尺寸風洞模型的測試下,這款全新的空力套件在鼻翼與尾翼部分大幅縮減面積,甚至幾乎可說是移除後尾翼,只為了減少空氣阻力保留必要的下壓力,創造出最好的高速表現。

這款HONDA全新研發的專屬空力套件預料將會在5月11日開始進行測試,在長達500英里的賽道奔馳環境下,任何細節皆可能影響賽事結果,甚至將足以左右車手安危。不論是在空力套件的效果或是引擎動力的輸出配置,皆需要最完整的測試才有機會在 Indianapolis 500大賽取得好成績。
