台灣本田國產第三部車，第八代Civic確認！

HONDA重返台灣後，以一年一部車的速度慢慢經營，再加上導入全新的銷售維修體系，讓其他車廠快速跟進，但是光靠CR-V與Accord兩款中高價格的產品來打入國內市場，似乎困難度不小，而過去傳言導入小型車或休旅車國產化一事，卻「只聞樓梯響不見人下來」，但根據AUTONET所獲得的第一手消息，台灣本田已經開始針對第三款國產車做規劃。

由目前所掌握到的訊息，台灣本田計畫國產化的第三款車，將是第八代Civic，預計於2005年以2006年式車款上市，這與東風本田在明年度量產新Civic有非常大的關連性。綜觀目前亞洲版車款問世的情況，中國大陸已經成為首度發表的重心，照TOYOTA Vios、NISSAN Teana、NISSAN Sentra（即將於明年推出）中國先行亮相爾後台灣地區來看，第八代Civic也將比照此模式進行。此外，在開發成本上也能有效降低，並達到亞洲戰略車的地位。據了解，國產化Civic仍為四門三廂式，動力上可能仍沿用直四1.7升引擎（除非原廠有新的設定），鎖定消費族群為25-35歲男性，內裝配備則走科技和舒適的組合，與Accord非常相似。
