第八代HONDA Civic確定國產！！

在年初的CR-V發表會中，HONDA Taiwan方面已宣布將於今年與明年，導入第三及第四款國產車型，雖記者會中HONDA Taiwan對於引進的車型仍是絕口不提，而之前外界皆預測Fit將是今年度第三輛導入的車款，但是依據國外改款時程推算，與AutoNet的可靠消息來源指出，HONDA Taiwan今年導入國產化的第三款車型，100%確定是九月份於日本上市的全新第八代Civic。

由於Fit已屆改款週期，且在資訊發達的時代，全球各地的消費者已無法接受舊型商品，也因如此，過去車廠以舊產品於非主流市場產銷的模式，也逐漸淡出原廠經營模式，所以AutoNet鐵口直斷HONDA Taiwan導入國內的第三款車型絕不是Fit，而是將於九月改款的第八代Civic。

Civic向來是HONDA最重要的世界戰略車種，第八代Civic上市後，除了日、美、歐三大市場外，東南亞將依舊以泰國為生產中心，而新興的中國市場也同樣會導入生產，至於國內依AutoNet的可靠消息來源指出，目前HONDA Taiwan已開始規劃第八代Civic的生產相關事宜，因此最新一代的Civic就是HONDA Taiwan導入國內的第三款車，並預計於今年底前(最晚於明年農曆年前)在台上市，在車型規劃上除了標準四門房車外，曾於國內風靡一時的三門車型，也有可能重返國內市場。至於Fit則是同樣於改款後引進國內，成為HONDA Taiwan導入國產的第四款車型，國內上市的時間預計為2006年的第二季，與Civic上市的時間非常近。

未來第八代Civic引進後，將主攻35歲上下、中收入小家庭族群，由於前代Civic所搭載的1.7升引擎，非主流市場貫有1.6升與或1.8升設定，加上過去整體形象上的問題，造成銷售成績不佳，因此HONDA在重返台灣後未繼續導生產第七代Civic；全新的第八代Civic動力系統，將換上1.8升i-VTEC引擎，且重新採用HONDA聞名於世的雙A臂懸吊系統，讓所有的HONDA對其操控表現有所期待。

此外，諸如：MITSUBISHI Lancer、NISSAN Sentra與TOYOTA Corolla…等Civic之同級對手於兩年內也將陸續改款，HONDA Taiwan有意以最快的速度引進最新的產，搶得先機，並希望藉由第八代Civic以及之後的國產Fit肩負起入門的角色，深耕台灣市場，當消費者藉著第Civic與Fit喜愛HONDA後，也將連帶增加Accord與CR-V的消費客源，因此2006年之後在HONDA於台灣的主力產品陸續到位後，產品線將更趨完整，讓HONDA擁有完整的實力，重返於台灣過去光榮時光。
