目前HONDA在中國現地生產尺碼最小車款為「廣州本田飛度HONDA Fit」，在印度市場當地投產的最小車型也是HONDA Fit，不過根據這兩地市場未來的發展潛力與消費趨勢，HONDA原廠日前宣布將針對這兩大新興潛力市場推出尺碼更小的入門新車。

HONDA原廠社長福井威夫，在日前於日本舉行新車發表會時，公開表示將針對中國與印度兩大潛力市場，推出全新入門乘用車款，這款新車的尺碼與產品定位均低於目前的HONDA Fit，此外新車的動力系統可望搭載排氣量低於1.0升以下的汽油引擎。
不過福井威夫也表示，直接在中國與印度的生產線，投產目前在日本國內銷售的輕型車，仍有成本與規格上一定的難度，而且新車的車身尺碼將卻大於輕型車的規格，不過他也並未明確表示，這款新車是否會使用日規輕型車平台加以改良。
