正式進軍汽車組賽事！HONDA HPD將打造SCORE Baja 1000拉力賽車

於F1賽場馳騁多年的HONDA，其實在拉力賽上也多有涉略，而自1962年開始舉辦的SCORE Baja 1000拉力賽，HONDA就曾以CL72 Scrambler、CRF450X、XR650R越野機車，甚至是TRX700XX全地形車等…贏得各個級別賽事，並囊括至少25個年度冠軍。而在汽車組的部份，HONDA也宣布將正式進軍該組賽事！

至於每一輛參加SCORE Baja 1000拉力賽的賽車，無論是機車或全地形車，都將交由HONDA所屬HPD（Honda Performance Development）進行量身打造並提供最完善的後勤維修，以確保耐用度和性能表現。而汽車組的參賽車輛，自然而然的也將匯集HONDA性能科技而來。

採用代號HR35TT、3.5L V6雙渦輪增壓賽車專用引擎，以市售泛用的J35引擎修改而來，具備SOHC單凸輪軸、綱合金製曲軸、鋁合金製鍛造活塞和乾式油底殼設計，至於引擎管理系統則是由HPD/McLAREN共同開發。變速箱則是採用澳洲製ALBINS ST6序列式變速箱，和美製Fox Racing避震器、General Grabber越野用胎。

而今年第48屆的SCORE Baja 1000拉力賽，預計將在11月20日正式展開，雖然賽事委員會還未公佈正式的路線，但若以過往的經驗來看應是由墨西哥Ensenada開始一直到南美洲玻利維亞La Paz，全長將超過1600km（1000 miles）。而汽車組除了HONDA之外，包含FORD、CHEVROLET和TOYOTA等一級車廠都將參賽。
