HONDA雙輪銷售里程碑！全球摩托車已達4億輛新門檻

年底到了，大多數人應該都想高調結束一年、顯示近一年來的努力成果，而HONDA大概就是能夠高調結束一年的車廠之一，除了慶祝旗下首款摩托車Dream D-Type的70週年生日，又售出了第4億輛摩托車，達成了新的銷售里程碑。
最初車廠會涉足雙輪領域，則是因為公司創始人本田宗一郎（Soichiro Honda）受電動腳踏車的靈感，想到或許基本、可靠、高效且便宜的摩托車款應能助二戰後的日本推回顛峰，隨後便推出首款Dream D-Type，而在70年以後，HONDA的雙輪目錄，就已經包括了Cub、Monkey、Metropolitan等等著名的機車車型，另外還有像是Africa Twin等等適合越野冒險的車型。
而近年來，在摩托車這塊領域，車廠也積極擴展，並快速提高產量。最初在1968年達成第1000萬輛摩托車的銷售，1984年就多了4000萬輛、達到5000萬輛的目標，銷售量上升到以「億」為單位，則分別在1997年完成1億、2008年的2億、以及2014年的3億里程碑，今年售出第4億台摩托車，也能明顯看出花了48年的時間才售出1億輛，但接下來達成目標的時間愈用愈短，3億到4億只用了短短五年時間就又賣出了1億輛。
車廠統計，在本財務年度當中，生產了2082萬輛摩托車，大部分仍留在亞洲銷售，不過，其中有28.2%、也就是約588萬輛的摩托車是在印度市場上銷售的，而印尼佔了516萬輛；銷售量的第三至六名，則分別是越南、泰國、中國以及其他亞洲國家；國際方面，拉丁美洲銷售出105萬輛，其餘的62萬輛則分佈在各地，包括美國、澳洲、歐盟國家等等。
除了車輛，車廠似乎也不忘佔好摩托車市，而大部分的摩托車都是在當地國家製造，目前，工廠就已設在21個國家或地區，其中就包括了泰國、印尼、奈及利亞、中國、越南等地；而在美國的俄亥俄州一間工廠，也是優先製造摩托車才製造汽車。
