國產小車隱藏角色HONDA Fit（全新City），原先盛傳將於今年底投放台灣，成為台灣本田HONDA Taiwan的第三款國產重砲，然而由於目前各方消息不明！國內零組件廠商也未接獲代工訂單，再加上全新大改款Fit也可望於2006年推出，種種因素使得現行HONDA Fit在台生產時程恐將向後延長。
HONDA Fit是國內車迷極為期待的小型車種，並且也是近年來HONDA在日本與歐洲大獲好評的產品，同時更於去年在中國廣州本田下線生產，成為HONDA的全球熱賣車；也因此，以「一年一部新車」為策略的台灣本田汽車HONDA Taiwan，原先預計在今年年底前推出國產化的Fit（City），然而該計劃至今卻出現變數。
據悉，由於台灣本田HONDA Taiwan討論期間仍未決定投產四門或是五門車型，而且評估量產時程也一延再延，最主要的原因就是HONDA Taiwan考慮到日本現行的Fit車系，即將於明年推出全新大改款車型，並於2006年開始向全球銷售，因此若台灣本田逕行將現行Fit投產，則Fit在台灣的產品生命僅有兩年不到，以台灣消費者喜新厭舊的習性來說，便很不容易滿足市場需求。
同時，HONDA Fit雖然是最可能成為台灣本田第三款國產車的產品，但由於HONDA Accord的上市銷售情形不如預期，消費者對全新Accord的喜好大過於購買的動力，再加上TOYOTA Camry在今年的強勢操作，使得Accord的銷售力道受到影響，反而讓台灣本田對投放第三款新車的腳步趨於減緩，必須再度考慮Fit上市的時間點，以重新調整HONDA在台的市場策略。
因此，現行的HONDA Fit可否在台順利量產，目前機率是愈來愈小，而且在明年還將進行大改款的產品還有全新第八代HONDA Civic，如HONDA Taiwan認為必須將市場策略調整為中小型房車戰略，則改為投放第八代Civic的可能性也不低；總之，車迷若想獲得更多新車可買，還是得告訴親朋好友多支持該廠牌產品，畢竟市場銷售量是決定性的關鍵。
