HONDA第三代家用燃料電池站實驗開始，解決能源方案

如果自家的後院就是燃料電池的能源站，並可充當臨時發電機，提供家庭所需一切用電，那絕對會替民眾省下不少錢，最有可能落實的，非HONDA莫屬。
由日本HONDA美國子公司HONDA R&D Americas，與所共同開發的氫燃料供應系統「Home Energy Station」，目前已經發展到第三代，從2003年10月的第一代、2004年11月第二代到現在的最新世代，HONDA對於氫燃料供應系統可是越來越純熟，技術上也隨著經驗有明顯進步。第三代「Home Energy Station」系統，不僅能供應燃料電池車所需的動能，也能當成家用電力來源，在能源問題持續嚴重的今天，將會是不錯的解決方案。
基於電池技術的進步，第三代「Home Energy Station」已經達到小型化、高效能的特性，並藉由液態氫的轉換壓縮技術更成熟，得以將儲存槽體積縮小，但儲存量可大幅提昇。如果與第二代相較，最新的技術已經讓運轉啟動時間縮短一分鐘，體積小了30％，發電量則增加25％；當然最受關注的氫燃料製造和儲存量，也強化了50％。
就一般的家庭用電，第三代「Home Energy Station」算是綽綽有餘，尤其停電時還能充當備用電源，在能源短缺的時代，HONDA的這種生活化構思的確不錯。
目前第三代「Home Energy Station」已經在加州托腊斯進行測試，並配合FCX與家庭作為期一年的實驗，相信到明年應該會有更先進的技術注入。
