相較於許多美系車廠不斷關廠裁員以降低成本，HONDA日前可是又在美國增加投資，新的變速箱廠也正式運轉，加入生產的行列！
根據最新消息指出，HPPG本田精機（HONDA Precision Parts of Georgia, LLC）位於美國喬治雅州的變速箱生產線，日前也完成試運轉之後，正式加入生產的行列，為了這條全新的生產線，北美本田約投資了1.5億美元，並且增聘約440名職工。
除此之外，HPPG該廠區更將持續進行其擴展計畫，原有佔地約十萬平方英呎的廠房，也將拓展至35萬平方英呎，後續投資設備的金額還至少增加五千萬美元。
這座HPPG喬治亞工廠，已經是HONDA在北美建立的第13座工廠，這次擴建完成的變速箱生產線，主要供應在北美生產的Odyssey與Pilot兩款車使用，該廠同時每年也生產至少30萬具V6引擎，未來該廠變速箱生產線的導入，除了可以擴大當地的就業率之外，對於北美本田各大整車生產線來說，更增加一個強力的後盾，至少在訂單供不應求時，引擎與變速系統的產能可以提供整車廠快速消化訂單，對於縮短消費者訂車之後的交車等待期也有明顯的幫助！
