日本本田 (Honda) 技研與台灣總代理三陽工業合作長達41年關係，在昨日正式劃下句點，日本本田在常務董事土志田諭領軍下在台北亞太會館舉行記者會宣佈，本田公司在臺灣將獨自開展事業，重新在臺灣汽機車市場上經營Honda品牌。目前日本本田占三陽持股比例為12.52%，依本田對全球汽車市場策略，將提高其於各國投資比率50%以上，並擁有主導權及經營權。
Honda汽車在臺灣合作對象三陽工業雙方紛爭不斷，導因於慶豐集團於前年發生財務危機，致使集團無法正常投資，產品優勢逐漸式微。日本Honda原廠希望增加持股比例，加強Honda在臺灣的競爭力，幾經協調多年，依舊無功，於去年12月15日談判破裂。本田公司於日前向中華民國行政院經部投資審議委員會提出關於新公司投資的申請，已獲得批淮。未來新公司名稱暫定為臺灣本田股份有限公司，該公司為本田在臺灣推進事業的核心企業，為日本本田百分之百投資，資本額1.7億新臺幣，預定三月正式開始營運，公司將設在臺北市近郊，同時建立 新的維修服務網。
下一階段的動作，在經濟部申請批准及許可後，建立所需銷售網及維修網。為提供臺灣車主的滿意度，本田將逐步開展各類事業，主要包含銷售機車、汽車、提供有關零件及維修服務。
據三陽公司日昨於證交所發表重大訊息說明所言，目前三陽公司汽、機車包含成車及零組件約庫存6000台，依舊在市面上銷售，售完為止。且於本月底將宣布新的合作伙伴，並將於今年9月至12月內與新的合作伙伴推出合作開發的國產新車款。
