HONDA Taiwan來台記者會 年底前落實在台現地生產策略

由日本本田(HONDA)技研於台灣百分之百投資設立的「台灣本田股份有限公司」，在追求顧客滿意度第一與成為在台灣深受喜愛的公司的目標下，決定將在台灣投資的資本額由原先的新台幣1億7000萬元，大幅增加約為36億元；更決定了在台設立汽車製造廠與設立全新經銷商網路之計劃，以在2002年底建構完整的汽車產銷體制，並在明年初起展開銷售服務。
台灣本田股份有限公司的董事長兼總經理藤崎照夫表示，未來將以顧客為出發點的經營方式，並訂定經營目標為，一.建立顧客信賴度：新製造廠將生產HONDA高品質的產品，而且全新建立的經銷網也會提供給顧客高品質的服務。二.建立HONDA全新的品牌：具體的說就是要導入最新商品、建立全新的經銷網，也就是把新的企業識別導入台灣，並加入全新的服務。
為了能在最短的時間內進行生產，台灣本田作出了最佳考量後的決定，其買下了原屬大慶汽車之屏東工廠的一部份土地與生產設備，新工廠將在今年底開始生產，並在明年初開始銷售，而在產量上，2003年預計生產20,000台，到了2004年預計生產35,000台，至於生產的車型方面，台灣本田選定了在北美、亞洲地區廣受歡迎的新型CR-V來作為台灣本田第一款生產的商品；新型CR-V在2003年初在台發表時，台灣本田將先設立20個銷售據點為目標，再逐漸的建立起全台灣經銷網。台灣本田為了不讓在台灣愛用HONDA汽車的顧客感到不便，已於桃園設立了零件供應的基地，並從7月1日起開始啟用，讓HONDA車主在零件的供應上，無後顧之憂。
