才剛推出改款式樣沒多久的HONDA Stream，在日前又宣佈新開發了一具2.0升的汽油直噴引擎“DOHC i-VTEC I”，並將配備於Stream的運動款Absolute身上，並配置七速手自排無段CVT變速系統以及全新設計的人體工學座椅，價格訂為為222萬日元，並從2003年12月4日起開始上市。
這具引擎在原本i-VTEC的系統上增加了新開發的中央噴射系統（Center Injection System），空燃比在最稀薄燃燒時為65:1，大幅超過了原直噴引擎的40:1，可輸出最大馬力156hp/6300rpm與最大扭力19.2kgm/4600rpm，在七速CVT手自排的搭配下，油耗表現更可達到每公升15.0km的極佳省油效果。
2004年式New Stream，改款重點在於車頭以及車內裝備的升級，並同時推出家庭仕樣車與性能運動版兩種不同車款，分別搭載1.7升及2.0升i-VTEC引擎，也可選擇4WD車型，讓產品線更多元化。其中家庭仕樣版，將原來樸素的微笑水箱護罩，更改為大型雙橫柵設計，讓重新排列的大型頭燈組有連成一氣的視覺效果；而車尾燈組則改為全紅色配置，並與尾門大型第三煞車燈連結，營造出極強的車尾辨識度，線條更延伸到尾門中央的兩側牌照燈，使得車尾的造型比車頭更為顯明。
運動版車型上則以雙層進氣口來替代橫柵飾條，同時配合燻黑三次元HID頭燈組，以及更具侵略性的下氣壩，增強了整車的動感與硬調性格；而車側也加裝側裙等空力套件。兩種車款也採用不同的內裝配置，家庭仕樣版使用溫馨的黑米雙色布質內裝，而運動版則是應用全黑色調搭配金屬飾板來營造跑格。兩車都可選用機能更強的「語音對應式影音娛樂系統」，可觀賞DVD、聽MD，也可加入衛星導航系統，只要靠一張嘴就能操作！
New Stream還提供了後排座椅上方的頂置式液晶螢幕與耳機，讓後座乘員更享受，另外也架設「倒車影像顯示裝置」，駕駛人可透過位於牌照框上方的CCD鏡頭，來確保倒車時無障礙物阻擋。當然，除了更好的配備外，安全機能的提昇也是這回改款的重點之一，原本的高剛性車體加上新增的前座六顆防護氣囊，可以讓前座乘員更安心。
