HONDA了得，全球第一具量產機車用氣囊問世

雖然有許多機車廠都展現氣囊，但都還在測試研發階段，而HONDA卻在九月八日向全世界正式宣佈，真正量產機車用氣囊已經開發完成，並在2006年中成為美國新Goldwing的標準配備。

過去機車用氣囊之所以未能量產，最主要是基於機車結構能放置氣囊的地方有限，且擊發的地方與感應器要如何配置也是一大問題，再加上電腦運算程式過慢導致影響作動時間，因此遲遲未出現在量產機車上，如今HONDA有了重大突破，不僅成功地在機車上作動，更於2006年中成為美規新Goldwing的標準配備。

HONDA將氣囊收納於油箱前方，並在車頭裝置四個感應器，經過氣囊專用的ECU、衝擊加速度感應器三方運算後，當車輛遭到前方撞擊時能在短時間內作動氣囊，以降低騎士的受傷程度。

其實HONDA也針對機車全天候安全系統作開發，這次的氣囊只是第一步，接下來許多出現在ASV-3上的配備，將隨著技術更成熟而成為量產車標準配備。
