由於本田宗一郎熱愛機械與速度,80-90年代幾乎是HONDA F1的全盛時期,所有年度賽事都以連勝收場,這點就不禁讓人佩服HONDA功力的所在,而源自F1的高科技則在1990年完全落實在市售車上。

ASIMO
1990年HONDA發表最新科技、且足以代表日本進軍超級跑車行列的NSX,低扁輕量化車身與VTEC引擎的加持,即獲得專業媒體好評;當然Civic、Accord也依舊是市場常勝軍。但HONDA卻不因此而滿足,決定朝RV路線發展。在此同時,該公司的企業精神領袖本田宗一郎不幸去世,然而HONDA卻沒有因此而陷入絕境,反倒是遵循本田宗一郎的願望,繼續朝科技和夢想前進。

所以1994年Odyssey、1995年CR-V相繼問世後,就是HONDA進入RV休閒領域的表彰,尤其是CR-V,更讓原本一枝獨秀的TOYOTA RAV4吃足苦頭。除了汽車領域外,HONDA也致力於機器人的開發工程,深受全球小朋友喜愛的親善大使ASIMO,就是HONDA表現科技力的典範。

由於眼光獨到且技術本位,HONDA也致力於Hybrid雙動力車的研發,20世紀的Insight與21世紀的FCX,甚至Accord/Civic Hybrid,都明顯看出在造車之際也重視環保問題。

如今,隨著全球汽車市場的串連,HONDA積極投入世界戰略車的行銷和開發上,為了提供符合當地的商品與服務,不但構築販賣網絡,商品的生產開發都在現地進行,正因為如此,HONDA在世界31國共擁有110個生產據點,這包含機車、汽車、汛用製品等,與此同時,以地球環境保護、交通安全等課題為出發點,視提供對人類生活及社會有所助益的商品、技術及服務為重要的課題,走在時代潮流的先端,並不斷地接受各種挑戰。

61年來,從製造腳踏車輔助動力引擎起家的HONDA,一直以「夢想」為原動力,以提供個人與社會行動力為軸心,創造出眾多無限可能,這也正符合HONDA21世紀的「Power of Dream」概念。
