「可愛」似乎已經成為日本文化的一部分。即將在這個月底登場的東京車展，日本「三大」車廠TOYOTA、HONDA、NISSAN就打算發揮可愛精神，推出一系列可愛、小巧的迷你車。
這些像玩具一樣可愛的概念車，Rin、Puyo和Pivo2，外表的造型令人聯想到iPod、科幻片中的太空小艇以及日本漫畫。但如果想要擁有這些可愛到讓人想咬一口的車子，可能要等上一陣子，因為三大車廠都無法擔保會在近期內推出。日本車廠希望能藉由這些可愛小巧的汽車，扭轉一般民眾認為汽車有害環境、造成塞車問題和引發全球暖化問題的印象。
該怎麼做呢？日本車廠認為，那就得將汽車變成人類友善的伴侶，而非一台駕著到處跑的機器。HONDA強調外型像白色泡泡的Puyo，不是汽車，而是「寵物」。使用燃料電池的Puyo座艙部分可以旋轉，因此駕駛永遠無須嘗試倒車。這台車的車身會以不同顏色的亮光和其他人溝通。HONDA表示，當這台車對於自身的情況很滿意時，它會變成綠色。
TOYOTA Rin與Puyo的外型類似。它擁有透明的地板和大片車窗，肉色的座椅能與乘客的膚色相輝映，車椅更經由特殊設計，幫助改善駕駛的開車姿勢。插電式的Rin能夠透過一般家用插座充電，對於車主來說相當的方便。NISSAN Pivo2電動車，在車輪處可以自由旋轉，可以輕鬆面對反方向。
