美規Odyssey改款在即，北美HONDA將考慮導入AWD系統滿足不同消費需求

做為北美最暢銷的Minivan之一，HONDA美規Odyssey自第三代車型開始便走向與日規截然不同的發展，透過更為放大的車體與出入自如的車室空間配置滿足北美市場的消費需求。現行款第四代美規Odyssey在2010年問世，雖然後續於2014年才剛剛進行過外觀提升的小改款工程，但面臨著消費者正逐漸對Minivan車型失去興趣，HONDA決定在2016年第二季發表全新世代美規Odyssey來力挽狂瀾，鞏固這塊北美市場的銷售大餅。
當然了美規Odyssey的進化方程式在強敵環伺的Minivan市場中恐怕不會有太多的改變，主要提升的重點在更具科技感的外型與導入HONDA Sensing之類的科技配備，賦予Odyssey與新世代車型無異的安全與便利配備。但在HONDA北美執行副總裁 John Mendel 的訪談中，似乎透露了新世代Odyssey將有機會搭載AWD全時四輪傳動的可能，以因應北美冬天時的雪地行駛需求。
然而導入AWD系統就現實層面來說，勢必得提高現有Odyssey的車室底版高度， 以容納額外增加的四輪傳動零組件，預料將會提高5-7cm左右，對於現行款Odyssey備受推崇的車室進出方便性來說將會是一大退步。因此未來改款後的美規Odyssey將要如何在車室空間高度與四驅底盤之間取得設計上的平衡，相當考驗工程師的功力。
環顧北美市場所販售的Minivan車型中，僅有TOYOTA Sienna是同級車款中唯一配有AWD系統的車款，而北美TOYOTA在行銷方面也特別強調AWD系統在雪地與濕滑路面中的穩定性，當然了與Odyssey即將面臨的問題相同，Sienna AWD版本僅有七人座車室配置，而無法如同前驅車型一樣可容納八人乘坐。因此做為Sienna強勁的競爭對手之一，未來美規Odyssey究竟會以怎樣的姿態與配備出現，值得消費者拭目以待。
