    HONDA擠下GM首度贊助美國INDY500,Accord Hybrid大顯身手

向來屬於美國人賽車精神指標的INDY 500,如今可能淪為日本車天下,因為HONDA把全球第一的GM給拉下馬,順利成為今年度前兩站賽事的贊助商,就連所有工作車也都換成HONDA品牌!

這次最受到眾人矚目的,莫過於前導車將由Accord 3.0 Hybrid擔綱重責大任,這可是頭一次由非美系車廠的演出,之所以給由HONDA贊助,最主要是2006年度的賽事HONDA提供引擎給許多車隊,當然資金上的所有一切HONDA也大力支持。

但HONDA推出Accord 3.0 Hybrid當作大會前導車,是基於Hybrid越來越受市場肯定,再加上TOYOTA Prius以勢如破竹的態勢達到每年10萬輛的銷售,看在技術本位的HONDA眼裡自然不是滋味;再者Civic與Fit Hybrid也將陸續問世,藉由老美最瘋狂的賽事展現科技實力,縱使投資大,但接下來的獲利才是驚人。

而攸關車手生命的保全與緊急車輛,當然也是北美HONDA旗下的車款囉!既然都花了這麼大筆錢,那就須作最有效投資。由於INDY 500大會與GM仍有合約,所以第三站將回復到GM手中,至於用哪一款車,到時就知道。
