100﹪回收再製！HONDA北美引擎鋁合金材質大躍進

在重視資源、能源和環保的時代，對於材料能省就省，可以回收再製的方式創造更多元化產品，是當前所有廠商的當急之務，像是HONDA，就成功地達成資源回收再利用，所有北美生產的引擎其鋁合金部份都是回收再製品。
位於加拿大安大略省的HCM，預定在2008年開始生產引擎，而為了搭上資源回收的這般列車，HONDA決定針對引擎汽缸頭與活塞部分，使用100﹪完全回收再製的鋁合金材質，而這可是HONDA汽車事業部頭一回使用這種技術，因為這種回收再製過程中可有效降低二氧化碳含量，除了減少成本開銷，亦能對地球環保盡一份心力。
在加拿大HCM的引擎工廠，年產量達20萬具，因此在大量採用回收再製的鋁合金材質後，估計在成本材料的費用可明顯減少；再者回收再製過程中所需的溶劑，因供應商就在HCM緊鄰的地方，所以在運輸上可佔盡地利之便。其實機車引擎與部分零配件中，已經採用回收再製的鋁合金材質，在經過長時間的考驗後有了不錯的成效，這導致HONDA開始思考將這種技術導入汽車引擎生產的可行性。
因此估計未來在回收再製鋁合金零件過程中，二氧化碳可減少至少一半以上，且也可降低車輛生產成本，或許HONDA也針對成本降低的狀況，將這種差額回饋到消費市場上。
