搶攻小型房車市場關鍵在價格！HONDA City即將重返台灣市場評估中？

曾在1996年導入國產化的City，是屬於該車系第三世代的產品，當初乃HONDA為了在台灣與TOYOTA Tercel、FORD Feativa等正面對決，以亞太版本所推出的小型四門房車，爾後在市場結構和消費型態改變下，City便從國產化清單中消失，如今HONDA Taiwan正積極評估尚未問世的新一代City國產化事宜，猜測最快要等到第三季以後才會有更明確答案。
為了能降低生產成本並拓展產品陣容，預計在2013年9月於日本發表的第三代Fit，動力上除了標準的1.3L和1.5L兩具汽油引擎外，還有1.3L的Hybrid等三種選擇，車型上仍舊為五門掀背，並還會增加同底盤的CUV和四門房車，基本上Fit四門房車就是City的後繼產品。
根據了解，開發代號2CT的新City，預計2013年4月推出量產試作車，概念車也在2013年4月的曼谷車展發表（據說就是量產版），2013年第三季正式生產販售，泰國、馬來西亞、印度、菲律賓和中國都列入生產基地。車身尺碼約4400×1695×1470mm，2600mm軸距長度的新City，規格上已經不輸給Civic，車室空間更因長軸距而顯得寬敞。動力方面將以1.5L汽油引擎和1.3L Hybrid兩種為主，部分市場可能還提供柴油心臟，並和CVT、六速手排搭配組合，外觀造型與現行City非常神似，但具有最新的T型家族風貌水箱護罩，且車側增添折線來強調動感，簡單來說新City將是歷代最具跑格的產品。
此外，台灣是否會導入國產化目前仍在評估階段，主要關鍵在於市場接受度和價格考量，畢竟現階段的1.5L小型房車已由掀背車取代，放眼市場僅剩下TOYOTA Vios大演個人秀，頗受歡迎的NISSAN Tiida四門以1.6L銷售量最大，但車格尺碼和Vios差不多，更重要的是兩款車售價都落在52萬元，在更優渥的購車條件下說不定50萬元有找，倘若City真要重返台灣市場，或許就得先克服價格這一關。
