    市場競爭激烈無法承受,HONDA決定結束太陽能電池事業

以發動機起家的HONDA,於2006年在日本鈴鹿廠和熊本廠加裝太陽能供電系統,而這些太陽能電池板都是由HONDA Solar Tech所負責,然而經過七年的時間卻不敵市場削價競爭,因此HONDA決定在2014年結束太陽能電池事業,最終供應到同一年的2月。

位於日本熊本縣的HONDA Solar Tech,是HONDA旗下百分之百的投資事業部,其所生產製造的太陽能電池板,全都由HONDA Solar Tech自行開發,且這些新世代大自然能源供應裝置,不僅輕薄,且採用由銅等物質所構成的CIGC化合物薄膜材質,比起過去結晶矽膠,製造過程所消耗的的能源幾乎可節省一半以上,因此對於成本和環保都有莫大幫助。這對HONDA來說看似前途一片光明,應該可增加不少收入,實際上並非如此簡單。

因歷經金融海嘯、日幣匯率飆升等衝擊,加上能源危機所帶來的傷害遠低於預估,使得HONDA Solar Tech承受不了市場競爭的壓力,因此在2013年便傳出HONDA有意止血,如今在2013年11月確定將停止太陽能電池事業的運作,時間點從2014年第一季起,也就是說最終接受訂單時間為2014年2月中旬,之後就不再供應市場需求。

所幸對HONDA來說,在太陽能電池事業的投資金額並不大,因此能及時止血也算是明智,尤其面對來自韓國、台灣、中國的競爭,售價偏高的日系廠商似乎都沒有什麼獲利空間,或許接下來就好好地將重心擺在主業上,否則怎對得起創辦人本田宗一郎呢?
