未來的復健好幫手！HONDA將Walking Assist Device導入美國進行測試

相信各位讀者都知道，HONDA除了機車以及汽車事業做很大之外，還有經營許多〝副業〞，其中ASIMO更是HONDA在機器人工學上的最大結晶，同時也是機械發展史上的一大突破；當然，ASIMO身上所採用的技術，自然會應用到HONDA許多產品中，其中先前在日本開始進行實用性驗證的Walking Assist Device就是其中之一。

值得一提的是，為了能夠得到更多、更詳盡的研究測試數據，HONDA再度擴大驗證範圍，另外提供了一批Walking Assist Device給美國RIC（Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago）芝加哥復康研究機構，讓該單位的研究人員能夠讓復健中的病人們實際使用這樣器材，藉此對Walking Assist Device進行實用性的驗證，同時這也是HONDA Walking Assist Device第一次在美國進行大規模的臨床實驗。

基於與ASIMO相同的步行控制技術打造而成，藉由位於兩側的感測器監測人類走路時髖關節與腿部的資訊，計算出抬腿的幅度以及跨步的大小，同時再藉由電動馬達的輔助，達到輕鬆向前的效果，而重量不到2.6kg的薄型化電動馬達，其輕盈的重量在讓一般人能夠輕鬆的穿戴行走之餘，也不會增加使用者多餘的負擔。

事實上，全球各地區都有許多中風的患者，而在經歷過這樣的病痛之後，如何幫助病人恢復行動能力，通常都要經過一段相當長的復健之路，若HONDA Walking Assist Device能夠提升中風病人的復健效果與效率的話，相信會是許多患者們的一大福音，如此一來更能夠展現HONDA一直以來所秉持的〝以科技幫助人們〞的企業精神。
