續航力成最大致命傷，HONDA Clarity純電動版本將告別美國

擁有電池電動、氫燃料電池電動以及插電式油電混合共三種動力車型選項的Clarity，可說是HONDA在綠能車領域的代表作之一，雖然去年底HONDA曾針對這款車型推出新年式版本，但當中採用電池電動車設定的Clarity Electric，卻消失在產品陣容當中。
雖然現在是個講求環保的年代，電動車絕對是當今車壇的寵兒，不過Clarity Electric會被原廠砍掉，卻也不會太令人意外。雖然它在推出十，被譽為是一款價格合理的五人座中型電動四門房車，但其容量為25.5 kWh的鋰電池組，僅能提供143公里的最大續航力卻是它的最大致命傷。
因為放眼今日車壇，所有的電池電動車，最大續航力的標準最少最少都是300公里起跳，且400公里以上已經是一個標準，目前更有許多品牌朝著600公里的最大續航距離前進。在這樣的情況下，Clarity Electric的143公里最大續航力顯然不具備任何競爭力，即便它擁有半小時內可完成80%充電的快充功能，但提供的續航距離也僅有114.5公里。
另一方面，Clarity車系去年在北美的銷售並不理想，交出11654萬輛，對比前年有著42%的衰退；與此同時，相較於插電式油電混合動力的車型能夠在全美銷售，Clarity Electric僅在加州與俄勒岡提供租賃的選項，數量自然也不會太大。
