借用GM電動技術，HONDA預估2024年前推出2款全新純電車款

HONDA目前在美國車市當中所推出的電動汽車產品仍然不多，像是唯一的純電車款則是即將推出的短程Clarity EV電動車，但想要看到這台電動車似乎還得再等一段時間；不過，車廠方面看來正在修改電動產品計畫，因為近日車廠便與通用汽車（GM）聯合聲明，指出將會在北美車市推出兩款以GM電動技術為基礎開發的全新純電車款。

車廠指出，這兩款新純電車款將會使用GM近期才公布的全新電動車平台以及最新的Ultium電池技術，平台將同時用於GM旗下像是CHEVROLET、Cadillac等等品牌的車款，至於新研發的Ultium電池，則將是獨特的袋狀鋰離子電池，除了能讓車體設計有更大的靈活性，還能夠快速充電，並且提供50至200 kWh的電池組，而全新純電HONDA除了會以這些技術為基礎之外，也會配備OnStar以及SuperCruise高級駕駛輔助系統，且車廠也預估將在北美工廠製造新的純電車款。

同時，兩家車廠都表示，雖然關鍵技術主要是由GM提供，HONDA仍將控制車款製造、設計等等過程；因此，像是車輛的外觀、內部、到最終的修改與量產，都將交由HONDA來完成這些任務；而HONDA也預估，會在未來幾年內發表這兩個新車款，並作為2024年式車款上市。

雖然GM及HONDA在車市、甚至在IndyCar賽事上都是競爭對手，但兩家公司之前也曾進行過合作，幾年前，雙方就開始共同開發氫燃料電池，也都參與Cruise自駕原型車的開發；另外，HONDA也與許多競爭對手合作過，例如，與ISUZU合作將Rodeo改頭換面作為Passport推出、並將Trooper重新作為Acura SLX車型推出；也有與英系車廠LAND ROVER合作，以Acura零件來製造Sterling豪華轎車。
