日幣走貶班師回朝，HONDA重返日本設立生產基地

由本田宗一郎從濱松町發跡所創立的HONDA，歷經多年努力朝夢想前進，事業領域包含二輪、四輪、航空、發動機、船舶、生技、機器人、不動產等的發展，生產基地更遍佈全球，然而受到日本景氣、在地化生產、成本、匯率等多重因素影響，現在更重回日本設廠，將重心再度移回家鄉。

目前HONDA在日本的生產基地，包含二輪、四輪和船舶用發動機共計有八個，其中最早成立的鈴鹿製作所於1960年啟用，現在以生產 N-One、N-Box、Fit、CR-Z、Insight為主，1954年成立的濱松製作所則僅生產四輪用自排變速箱，而1964年開始運作的埼玉製作所，則專事Accord、CR-V、Odyssey、Stream等車款的生產事宜。在隨著向外拓展的1970年代，HONDA陸續在台灣、美國、加拿大、泰國、英國、中國、印度等地設廠，不過在日本新首相安倍晉三「強制」讓日幣走貶下，也讓HONDA決定回日本設廠，這可是HONDA這半世紀來的頭一遭。

回顧HONDA的發展，1964年值日本準備迎接奧運盛典之際，HONDA位在東京附近埼玉製作所正式啟動，加上濱松和鈴鹿兩個製作所，正好趕上日本經濟起飛之際，這刻日本的My Car時代開始，HONDA也趁勢崛起，並陸續推出Civic、Accord等膾炙人口的車款，並將觸角往北美市場移動並陸續建廠。從1990年代初期開始隨著泡沫化，日本邁向「失落的十年」後，對HONDA而言也就沒有擴廠的必要。然而2013年7月，HONDA準備重返日本設立生產基地，地點就在於距離東西約兩小時車程的寄居市。

HONDA之所以回日本成立新廠，適逢日圓匯率走貶有助獲利，預估這座新廠將具有年產25萬輛的規模。近幾個月來，投資人蜂湧而入日本，追捧日股日經指數飆上2008年以來高點，各種跡象顯示日本經濟呈現復甦，專家也預測日本將於2013年第一季擺脫衰退。而HONDA這座位於東京西北部的寄居廠，凸顯出從股市到小城鎮，日本全國一片樂觀氛圍。寄居市距離東京有2小時車程，人口近3.6萬人，該市市民對於HONDA選擇在當地設廠可是大表歡迎，畢竟能增加就業機會，解決長期以來的失業問題。
