HONDA印尼新廠完竣，2016年產量上看30萬輛

雖然歐洲、美國兩大市場，是各大車廠互相競逐的主要市場，但在受到金融海嘯所導致的歐債危機，致使車市規模大幅縮減，致使許多車廠也開始另闢新局，逐漸將部分重心轉往經濟正在起步、開發中的新興市場先行卡位，而深耕印尼市場許久的HONDA，甚至於印尼當地成立合資公司Honda Prospect Motor（HPM），就是看準印尼未來可觀的車市規模，HONDA位於印尼第二座的Karawang生產廠也於近日完竣，準備加入生產的行列。
2012年時，HPM就在位於印尼雅加達郊區的Karawang投資27億日圓擴建新產線，並且預估年產能可達到12萬輛，加上目前的6萬輛，目的就是希望能在2014年將印尼產能提升至年18萬輛的規模，甚至在2016年在向上提升至30萬輛，以持續維持在印尼的品牌優勢。
Karawang廠的總佔地面積將多達145760平方公尺，並且將採用近年來HONDA的新建廠區規劃，採用能夠再生利用的綠能建材以降低汙染物、CO2的排放，並透過高透光的玻璃屋頂來達到高採光的效果，以及利用最新的節能空調技術，減少不必要的能源浪費。
而新落成的Karawang廠除了主力負責生產Fit、CR-V、Freed、Brio等部分車型以及先前泰國水患而轉移至此製造的小型車CVT變速箱，另外2013年9月才剛於印尼發表的七人座MVP車型Mobilio也將在此進行生產。
其實HONDA會如此積極其實不是沒有原因，光是2013年就在印尼市場達到了91493輛的年銷量，創下了近年來的新高，成長幅度更是領先其他品牌的132%，顯然新廠區的落成將替HONDA提供更豐沛的能量。
