瞄準新興市場、就近貼近需求！HONDA計畫在印度成立研發中心

有鑑於印度對於汽車需求的強勁潛力，許多國際大廠都已經紛紛在印度當地進行設廠，希望能夠提早佈局取得優勢，等待爆發性高成長的契機出現，而日本第三大車廠-HONDA近來也傳出消息指出，有意在印度當地設立子公司，專注於負責開發適合當地勢場的低成本車型，並且協助提升新車型在當地採購零組件、降低成本的任務。

根據國外消息指出，這個子公司將有可能是以HGID（Honda Genbetsu India）為名，並且有望直接於目前HONDA在印度 Greater Noida地區的生產廠內設立，投資金額約為50億盧比（約24.5億台幣）。而這項動作也被解讀為HONDA針對印度市場採取本土化經營的戰略修正，不排除在未來推出當地專屬車型的可能。
事實上，HONDA在2012年餘印度推出Brio Amaze的車型之後頗受當地好評，儘管本車是以東南亞市場為主要的銷售地點，但是在印度也一樣大受歡迎，其基於Fit底盤所改良而成的Brio Amaze，軸距略拉長至2405mm、車身尺碼則為3990×1680×1485mm，比起國人較為熟悉的City都還要來的更為小巧；而Brio Amaze的成功經驗也讓HONDA更有深化經營潛力市場的打算，未來也將推出更多的以平價作為訴求的低階入門車款。
而根據AutoNet汽車日報的瞭解，今年「台灣本田」也將會在國內市場推出多款新車，包括已經在台北車展亮相的新世代City將以國產化車型的姿態於七月間登場上市之外，五月份也會有Civic的小改款車型追加演出，至於擔綱壓軸戲碼的則是由新世代的Fit所扮演、並計畫將在9月份上市，顯然也是採取以中、小型車款作為攻略市場版圖的策略。
