根據本田原廠所發佈的最新消息指出﹐直到三月底為止本田當家車系Civic﹐已經擁有超過1500萬輛的總產量﹐這可是從1972年第一代Civic車系量產以來所締造的全新紀錄！！
當年以CVCC引擎與半自動變速系統﹐加上本田擁有的賽車科技﹐著實讓Civic車系成為全球家喻戶曉的國民車系﹐除了日本原廠以外﹐本田Civic更在包括北美（美加）、巴西、英國、土耳其、泰國、馬來西亞、印尼、菲律賓與巴基斯坦等地生產﹐最早就在1975年於印尼當地成立的PT HONDA Prospect Motor進行海外生產﹐目前在全球11個國家平均每年60萬的產量。
在過去Civic車系發展的這三十多個年頭﹐在1998年本田原廠還增列的天然氣版本﹐並且在2001年推出雙燃料車型﹐目前最令人津津樂道的當然是發展成熟的VTEC引擎科技﹐以及Multi Matic S變速系統﹐不過在國內三陽與本田分家﹐由日本原廠獨資的台灣本田正式經營之後﹐短期內要看到七代Civic車系在台上市﹐可能還必須耐心地等上一些時日！
