HONDA第五代Integra開發露曙光，2.3升渦輪增壓加持！

在美國幾乎是年輕人代步工具的HONDA Integra（ACURA RS-X），先前曾謠傳即將停產，但日前AutoNet所獲得的獨家情報，Integra不僅繼續開發，下一代還以2.3升渦輪增壓與四輪驅動為組合。
成熟度非常高的Integra Type R，可是HONDA在北美的武器，打從1985年第一代以ACURA打進美國市場後，儼然成為西岸年輕人的購車首選，尤其當1996年第三代車型又追加頂級Type R，讓許多性能迷趨之若鶩；而在2001年與Prelude作車型整合後所推出的第四代，不僅保留既有的性能操控樂趣，空間和配備也向上提升，成為HONDA旗下高性能前驅跑車。
然而到了2007年Integra問世屆滿六年，這又牽扯到大改款週期，雖然原廠曾有考慮不再推出後繼車，但礙於最大市場的美國需求，同時為了培養日後晉升新NSX後繼車V10的潛在客戶，所以HONDA計畫在2008年推出第五代Integra，當然在美國仍屬於ACURA RS-X的名號。
根據AutoNet所掌握的情報，新一代Integra仍具備高性能的Type R式樣，而且動力心臟將以甫於底特律車展發表的RDX 2.2升渦輪增壓引擎為基礎，擴缸100cc後變成直四2.3升，馬力輸出從240hp一舉攻入280hp領域，且扭力估計能提升為40.0kgm，當然這也是HONDA第一款搭載渦輪增壓引擎的高性能房車。
此外，RDX的四輪驅動系統也必成為Integra Type R的標準配置，但是否會升級採用SH-AWD系統，這點還必須再確認，不過可以想見的是，未來高性能四輪驅動房車也不再是SUBARU和MITSUBISHI的天下了！
