HONDA再創安全新規格，DSSS駕駛安全輔助系統實測開始

在日本國土交通省訂出相關方針，與各大車廠全力開發下，AVS先進車輛系統目前已經發展到第四代，且藉由電腦和網際網路暨通訊系統的成熟，已經能達到車與車之間的溝通，像HONDA所開發的DSSS系統，在11月初將在栃木縣宇都宮市進行實地測試。
所謂DSSS，就是Driving Safety Support System駕駛安全輔助系統，這套由HONDA位於日本栃木縣本田技術研究所開發的新系統，主要是針對提升駕駛安全與人車生命保障的高科技，並有效預防車禍的發生。由於必須協同警察單位、交通單位共同參與，基於地緣關係，HONDA與栃木縣宇都宮市相關單位於該市主要道路建置相關系統，包含光纖感應器、即時訊息控制系統等，並在11月5日到7日三天進行實地測試。
因此HONDA以三輛搭載DSSS系統的Odyssey為測試車，車上裝有GPS、無線網路、無線通訊等系統，當車輛或機車行駛至十字路口時，藉由車上的發報器傳達至路口的光纖接收器，隨後以即時傳輸的速度再傳達到車輛上，讓駕駛人可隨時得知其他車輛的狀況，避免於交叉路口發生意外車禍。再者，當前方感應器測知路況為塞車時，便會發送訊息到車輛上方，要駕駛人減慢速度以免追撞。
此外，在整個實際測試完畢後，HONDA將提供DSSS系統於栃木縣產業技術中心展示，並可讓民眾實際體驗車輛安全科技的優點。不過要能做到量產實用化，這恐怕還需相當長的時間，主要是各車廠必須整合一套規格相同的系統，但到底要用誰的肯定會搞不定。
