HONDA Jet引擎生產基地破土，搶攻商用客機市場大餅

朝著藍天邁進的HONDA，看上全球商用客機的市場商機，不僅成功地開發出HONDA Jet小型噴射客機，更在發動機研發有著卓越的成就，為了強化進軍航空界的決心，日前已在美國興建小型渦輪發動機工廠，預計2010年正式啟動。
HONDA航空發動機整合事業體HONDA Aero,Inc.日前在美國北卡羅萊納州的Burlington市進行新廠房破土儀式，這個以生產小型渦輪發動機為主的新工廠，總投資金額為美金2700萬元，約合新台幣8.6億元，工廠硬體面積為5400平方公尺，測試區與辦公室面積總和為9500平方公尺，待完工後將具備70名作業員，年生產200具小型渦輪發動機。
而在這個新廠房生產的小型渦輪發動機，是以HONDA獨自研發的HF118為基礎，並與GE經過長達5000小時不斷測試改良的成果：HF120新型發動機，這具發動機擁有高功率、輕量化、低噪音與高經濟性的特性，這在講求環保的高油價時代，確實是一大話題，且對商用客機的用戶或擁有者來說，實在能節省荷包上的開銷。
雖然目前全球每年擁有800-1000架商用噴射客機的需求量，但不少專家都預言這種需求在未來肯定會激增，而HONDA正好看上這樣的商機，因此再作如此大手筆的投資。至於將來的發展性如何，端看HONDA與市場的反應了。
