造福人類再創環保，HONDA太陽能電池事業部正式營運

以發動機起家的HONDA，只要是與動能有關的幾乎全都包，2006年在日本鈴鹿廠和熊本廠加裝太陽能供電系統，以提供更多的電力需求，當然這些太陽能電池板，也都是由HONDA Solar Tech所負責。
位於日本熊本縣的HONDA Solar Tech，是HONDA旗下百分之百的投資新事業部，其所生產製造的太陽能電池板，全都由HONDA Solar Tech自行開發，且這些新世代大自然能源供應裝置，不僅輕薄，且採用由銅等物質所構成的CIGC化合物薄膜材質，比起過去結晶矽膠，製造過程所消耗的的能源幾乎可節省一半以上，因此對於成本和環保都有莫大幫助。
從今年10月開始量產的太陽能電池板，已在全日本80個經銷據點進行銷售，而HONDA Solar Tech預計在2008年中左右擴展到200個，可見得太陽能電池板的潛力無窮，當然主要還是因能源危機而產生商機。
2007年起熊本廠進行擴建工程，一年可生產27.5Mkw總能的太陽能電池板，這種以超薄技術為前提所開發的新世代太陽能電池，其材質為銅、CIGC等化合物，除了製造過程中能減少廢氣污染，使用太陽能電池更可有效降低對傳統能源的依賴，並替地球溫室效應盡一份心力。
