HODNA總裁Takeo Fukui表示，燃料電池車的價格還需要大幅下滑，才能符合大部分消費者的購車條件，提高大量生產的機會。日本車廠HONDA才剛為全新燃料電池車揭幕。
氫氣燃料電池車ㄧ直是所有替代燃料車款中，零污染的代言人。透過氫氣和氧氣間的化學反應產生電力，唯一的排放物只有水，說它是永續科技的結晶也不為過。但現在較受歡迎的替代燃料車款，卻是油電動力複合式汽車和柴油車，氫氣燃料電池車無法獲得大部分消費者青睞的原因，主要是氫氣燃料加油站仍相當少見。
消費者受制於「不夠方便」的因素不願購買燃料電池車，車廠也因此無法大量生產，以求降低生產成本。HONDA在星期一宣佈今年七月起，將在美國開始出租第三代燃料電池車款FCX Clarity，而日本方面則要等到今年秋天才開始對外出租。
Fukui強調這台全新的燃料電池車生產成本為幾千萬日圓，比之前的版本要便宜許多。不過他認為除非氫氣燃料電池車的價格下滑至1000萬日圓以下(92000美元左右) ，燃料電池車才有機會大量生產。「我們需要十年的時間，才能將燃料電池車的價格降低到這個標準。」Fukui說。
