    HONDA開發出開啟更快、可減輕乘客所受衝擊的氣囊系統

HONDA於2008年9月18日發表了充氣速度得比傳統更快,且可減輕乘客所受衝擊的─連續容量變化型新型汽車氣囊系統。特點是可迅速提高氣囊內壓且長時間保持在一定的水準上。可在不考慮乘客的不同身材及座椅位置的情況下發揮絕佳的保護性能。從2008年11月全新改款的輕型車Life將首先配備。

原來的汽車氣囊在遇到身材矮小且駕駛中坐得離方向盤較近的人時,存在氣囊內壓未升壓之前,駕駛人就會撞向氣囊、不能充分發揮氣囊的安全保護性能的問題。為解決這一問題,如果使用迅速產生大量氣體的氣體發生器,這時對於與氣囊間距離較遠的身材高大的駕駛員來說,氣囊內壓會過高,撞向氣囊時的衝擊力就會變大。

針對這一問題,新型氣囊在囊體上增加了漩渦狀針腳線。可根據氣囊膨脹情況分階段展開,隨著容積增加而膨脹。最初由於容積小,內壓會迅速上升。因此,對於與氣囊距離較近的駕駛員也可發揮充分的保護性能。

另一方面,內容積是隨著膨脹而增加的,所以氣囊在膨脹期間可保持一定的內壓。因此,對於與氣囊距離較遠、撞向氣囊需要時間的身材高大的駕駛員來說,也可減輕撞擊氣囊時的衝擊。

在氣囊達到最大容積後,排氣控制閥就會打開。雖說是閥門,但實際上只是由氣囊底布製成的蓋。憑藉內壓升高使針腳線展開將氣體放出。原來的氣囊只是打開放氣孔,因此內壓在達到頂峰後就會立即下降。而新型氣囊可長時間保持一定內壓,因此可對各種體型的人能夠發揮最佳保護性能。

HONDA原來已投入使用根據車輛衝撞的衝擊力分兩段控制氣囊展開的i-SRS氣囊系統,而此次的新型氣囊在沒有上述電子控制的情況下,即可優化保護性能。另外,成本也與原來的無兩段控制的氣囊相同。因此,今後HONDA打算將所有氣囊全部換成此次開發的新型氣囊。
