HONDA印尼新廠正式動工，2014年產量上看18萬輛

HONDA位於印尼雅加達郊區的HPM（P.T.HONDA Prospect Motor）廠區，是HONDA於東南亞市場的主要基地，成立於1999年的HPM汽車生產廠區，廠內作業人員約有3,600名，主力負責生產Fit、CR-V、Freed等部分車型的組裝作業，平均年產量約在6萬輛上下。在先後歷經東北海嘯與泰國水患的摧殘後，HONDA不僅要花費日幣50億圓（約折合新台幣18.7億元）將小型車CVT變速生產技術移轉自泰國移轉自此地，緊接著要在HPM周邊斥資約270億日圓（約折合新台幣103億元）打造全新的汽車生產線，挑戰2014年年產量18萬輛的目標。
有鑒於先前飽受天災洗禮之苦，HONDA以將部分主要零件產地移動至國外，除了達到分散風險的效果，也考量到運輸與勞資等成本問題，而自今年年初開始，HONDA也有計畫將印尼設定為東南亞市場中第二大的外地工廠，主要因應印度與泰國等東南亞市場的需求，可以確定的是HPM廠區將成為HONDA針對亞洲市場所推出的小型車Brio的主要生產基地。
而全新規劃的產線將著重於追求更高品質的生產品質，原本針對亞洲市場車型50%的車輛部品生產比率也將調升至80%的程度，而本次的投產預計將在當地創造約2,000個工作機會，新工廠最快將在2014年第一季正式投入HONDA全球產能的佈局中。
