號稱全美最省油房車，HONDA Accord PHV美國EPA測試數據達115MPGe

2012年9月，HONDA正式進行了全新第九代美規Accord車系的發表，除了汽油動力車型已於該年第三季在美上市，原廠也首度將Plug-in Hybrid插電式油電複合動力車型加入Accord車系之中，並在今年與Hybrid車型一同進入北美市場。最近Accord PHV更依據美國EPA測試規範，以115MPGe（約48.6km/L）的耗能表現擊敗FORD Fusion Energi的108 MPGe（約45.7km/L），博得〝全美最省油房車〞的名號。
身為HONDA首款在美國生產的Plug-in Hybrid車型，Accord PHV與過去HONDA所採用的Hybrid科技不同，搭載了雙電動馬達，以及採HONDA Earth Dream科技打造、具備137hp/6200rpm最大馬力的2.0L i-VTEC直列四缸Atkinson循環引擎，輔以CVT無段變速系統，能夠與輸出功率124kW的電動馬達創造出196hp最大馬力的表現；此外並具備電動、Hybrid、汽油三種動力行駛模式，除了純以電力行駛的最大續航距離可達13km，若以汽油動力驅動車輛，Accord PHV也具備高速19.5 km/L、市區19.9 km/L、平均19.5 km/L的燃油經濟性。
Accord PHV的動力系統能夠根據電池剩餘電量自動在三個模式之間轉換，例如在零排放的電動模式之下，當電池電量不足時，便會自動切換至Hybrid模式、獲取最佳油耗經濟效益，至於有高速動力需求時，單獨以傳統內燃機引擎驅動的汽油模式則能提供額外的動力輸出；HONDA也為Accord PHV配備了與Fit EV相同的煞車動能回收系統，能在行駛當中為電池進行電能回充，盡可能提高能源使用效率。
充電時間方面，Accord PHV採用了輸出功率6.7kWh的鋰電池組，若以120V的電源進行充電，可在3小時內將電池充至滿載，如果採用HONDA的240V〝Level-2〞充電器更能在1小時內充滿；HONDA並提供車主能夠隨時監控車輛充電狀態的HondaLink智慧型手機應用程式，提升車主用車時的便利性。目前Accord PHV已在美國紐約及加州先行販售，售價自39,780美元（約新台幣115.2萬元）起；至於國內部份，由於未來很有可能改以進口方式引進，推測外觀造型與各地區規格的差異將會逐步縮小，導入時間點則推測會在明年第三季之後，AutoNet汽車日報將會持續追蹤報導。
