找回賽事基因，HONDA成為2013 Pikes Peak登山賽主贊助商

在全球車壇中、堪稱越野賽盛事的Pikes Peak International Hillclimb派克斯峰登山賽可說有其重要地位，這條賽道全長雖不過19.9km的距離，但卻有著156個彎角之多，而特別的是比賽的起點是在海拔9.402呎展開，終點則是在14.110呎的位置，中間落差高達4.720呎之多，加上賽程後半段的海拔標高12.750呎的「無底洞」彎，可以說是整段賽場上最為驚險的路斷。

而HONDA自2009年由伊東孝紳接任成為第七代社長後，除了一改公司經營方針、以更積極態度進行新車計畫、如新世代NSX與S2000後繼車款的開發，對於找回「本田魂」、參與全球各項賽事也十分熱心，包括BTCC、WTCC、達卡拉力賽、MotoGP、WSBK等各大四輪/兩輪賽事，且都有著不錯的戰績，甚至與McLaren車隊合作回到F1賽場的傳言也聲囂塵上，而最近HONDA也於北美市場進行找回賽事DNA的形象，因此也決定提供大筆贊助、成為2013 Pikes Peak登山賽主要合辦單位。

另一方面，HONDA北美R&D部門、HPD性能部門（HONDA Performance Development）及THR研究團隊（Team-HONDA Research）也全力支援此次的2013 Pikes Peak登山賽，並以多樣化車款進行參賽，包括：ACURA初代NSX（Pikes Peak Open）、TL SH-AWD（Time Attack）、HONDA CR-Z（Exhibition）、Fit EV（EV）等汽車組別賽事，以及HONDA CRF250R（250）、CRF450R（450）、CBR1000RR（Exhibition）、CBR600RR（750SS）與TRX450（450 ATV）等機車組別賽事。
