    找回賽事基因,HONDA成為2013 Pikes Peak登山賽主贊助商

在全球車壇中、堪稱越野賽盛事的Pikes Peak International Hillclimb派克斯峰登山賽可說有其重要地位,這條賽道全長雖不過19.9km的距離,但卻有著156個彎角之多,而特別的是比賽的起點是在海拔9.402呎展開,終點則是在14.110呎的位置,中間落差高達4.720呎之多,加上賽程後半段的海拔標高12.750呎的「無底洞」彎,可以說是整段賽場上最為驚險的路斷。

而HONDA自2009年由伊東孝紳接任成為第七代社長後,除了一改公司經營方針、以更積極態度進行新車計畫、如新世代NSX與S2000後繼車款的開發,對於找回「本田魂」、參與全球各項賽事也十分熱心,包括BTCC、WTCC、達卡拉力賽、MotoGP、WSBK等各大四輪/兩輪賽事,且都有著不錯的戰績,甚至與McLaren車隊合作回到F1賽場的傳言也聲囂塵上,而最近HONDA也於北美市場進行找回賽事DNA的形象,因此也決定提供大筆贊助、成為2013 Pikes Peak登山賽主要合辦單位。

另一方面,HONDA北美R&D部門、HPD性能部門(HONDA Performance Development)及THR研究團隊(Team-HONDA Research)也全力支援此次的2013 Pikes Peak登山賽,並以多樣化車款進行參賽,包括:ACURA初代NSX(Pikes Peak Open)、TL SH-AWD(Time Attack)、HONDA CR-Z(Exhibition)、Fit EV(EV)等汽車組別賽事,以及HONDA CRF250R(250)、CRF450R(450)、CBR1000RR(Exhibition)、CBR600RR(750SS)與TRX450(450 ATV)等機車組別賽事。
