由於歐陸中型房車市場勁駒輩出，本地對手如Mondeo、Vectra、406個個武功高強，來自日本的本田七代Accord為了要深耕市場，推出七代汽油車型與旅行車頗受好評之後，決議在九月的法蘭克福車展中首推柴油車型CTDi，另外更將推出一輛具備空力套件的車展式樣旅行車型！
對於歐陸汽車市場來說，目前柴油引擎已經成為最紅火的新貴，對於想要深耕此一市場的業者來說更不能缺席，而且勁車輩出更讓大家不斷推出新車，譬如豐田首度拿下NCAP五顆星安全認證的Avensis，以及一推歐陸本地的強中強， 都不是七代Accord可以輕忽的對手，本田原廠決定在九月的法蘭克福車展推出CTDi版本雅哥，更是另一項積極的做法！
稱為i-CTDi 的本田全新柴油動力系統，即將搭載於七代歐規Accord車上的將是排氣量2.2升的版本，最大馬力看起來僅有138hp，但是藉由直接噴射系統的輔助，將可在低轉速的2000rpm就輸出達到34.56kgm的峰值扭力，幾乎超越3.0升汽油引擎，而且原廠還宣稱0-100km/h加速僅需9.4秒就可達成，平均每公升更具備了22.2公里的優異行駛距離，想想現在國內暢銷的2.0聲中大型房車吧；另外，本田也將會在會場推出一輛勁裝歐規旅行車版本，更導入全套的空力套件，本田迷絕對不能錯過！
