對於歐洲的本田車迷而言，HONDA Civic可說是相當值得入門的車款，不過動力方面的設定卻是有點尷尬，要不就是選擇1.6升的110hp，要不就是選擇Type-R 2.0的200hp，落差似乎太大了些，也因此歐洲本田原廠決定要新增一款中間馬力車型，也就是本報先前為讀者所透露的五門運動化版本Type S，除了1.6升之外，還要在增列一款2.0車型。
這款稱為Type S 2.0的全新五門版本運動化式樣，可是本田Civic七代車系首度追加的版本，提供了ESP動態車身穩定系統作為標準配備，建議售價為28359歐元，除了將17吋鋁圈也列為標準配備之外，更具備了更大尺碼的煞車碟盤、定速巡航系統、線傳油門與循跡控制系統等高質配置。
其所搭載泛用於HONDA車系的2.0升引擎經過重新調校後，可以輸出160hp的最大馬力，以及最大扭力179Nm，配置密齒比五速手排，0-100km/h起步加速僅需8.8秒，安全極速有210km/h的表現，加上比照Type R的內裝配備，包括深黑色系搭配金屬飾板的運動化內裝，雙質真皮桶型座椅，對於預算型買家來說可是吸引力十足。相信國內的本田迷聽了已經已經開始流口水了，不過Civic國產化應該還要一段時日，大家只有多忍耐了∼
