第八代Civic全新搭載！─HONDA推出全新世代1.8升 i-VTEC引擎

一向以卓越引擎科技聞名的HONDA，日前推出了全新世代1.8升 i-VTEC引擎，並將率先搭載於今年秋天上市的全新第八代Civic上。
HONDA此次推出的全新1.8升 i-VTEC引擎，實際排氣量為1799c.c，壓縮比為10.5，可輸出140hp/6300rpm最大馬力，以及17.7kgm/4300rpm最大扭力，並導入了新一代的VTEC可變進氣汽門正時機制，以及線傳油門設計，增進引擎燃燒效率，使這具1.8升引擎的省油表現甚至比原本的1.7升引擎優異6%，幾乎達到一般1.5升引擎的水準。
該具引擎採鋁合金本體與鍛造曲軸設計，兼具輕量化與高剛性，並改以正時鏈條增進耐用度，除此之外，為進一步減少排放污染，依據目前公佈的解剖圖來看，這具全新引擎直接將觸媒轉換器直接與排氣歧管連接，並於排氣端也增加廢氣感知器，可依據廢氣濃度參數適時調整更精確的油氣混合比例，不但可直接有效的將有害氣體過濾外，更可增加汽油的燃燒效率。而更為緊緻的引擎設置，使這具新引擎的體積比原本的1.7升引擎來的小，重量也更輕。
HONDA這具全新引擎，將取代原本的1.7升引擎，順應潮流成為HONDA旗下的主力，除了第八代Civic外，未來由其所衍生出的家族車系，勢必也將搭載該具引擎。
