HONDA氫氣燃料電池車FCX Concept將於明年開始在美國及日本正式推出，將專門以出租的方式方便讓消費者有機會親身接觸這款氫氣燃料電池車，不過在這輛FCX Concept之前，HONDA也曾推出FCX在日本及北美的租車中心接受租賃業務。

新一代HONDA FC Stack燃料電池組，比原本的FC Stack燃料電池組體積縮減20%。

HONDA從1999年首次推出FCX燃料電池車，歷經數年的改善，明年將推出全新FCX Concept，因為配備新一代HONDA FC Stack燃料電池組，比原本的FC Stack燃料電池組體積縮減20%，重量減少30%，輸出馬力多出20hp，最大馬力為127hp，最高扭力為26.1kgm，最高安全時速可達160km/hr，最遠能夠行駛560公里，以及全新的3V System燃料電池底盤，新一代FCX Concept也是目前汽車市場中底盤最低的燃料電池車。
至今已經有大約8年左右的歷史，而最近HONDA社長福井威夫表示，2018年將有可能量產氫氣燃料車款，正式推向一般大眾市場；HONDA研究調查顯示，許多消費者願意購買氫氣燃料電池車的價格為一千萬日幣，如果以目前HONDA氫氣燃料車款預估的價格，將可能是消費者預期價格的10倍，也就是大約一億日幣，可說是天價。
為了能夠被大眾消費接受，所以HONDA將要持續向氫氣燃料挑戰，希望改善氫氣儲存以及發展低成本的氫氣。
