大力推廣氫氣車，HONDA正式開放英國第一個氫氣加氣站

日前HONDA在英國Swindon正式開放英國第一個氫氣加氣站，是由全球最大的工業氣體供應商Linde集團旗下的英國燃氣公司BOC建設與經營，以鼓勵氫燃料電池車如HONDA FCX Clarity的發展，並促使氫燃料電池車在英國更加推廣。
HONDA在Swindon建立的氫氣加氣站將做為氫燃料電池車車主往返London和Swansea之間的中繼站，透過積蓄大量氫氣的鋼瓶為氫氣車加氣，加氣時間幾乎與傳統加油站同樣迅速，以FCX Clarity為例，加滿氫氣的時間將不到5分鐘，與電動車相比可說節省了不少時間。英國政府技術策略委員會（Technology Strategy Board）即表示，做為讓傳統運輸系統更加進步的創新方案，氫燃料電池車的開發及氫氣加氣站的建置可說是一個很好的例子。
BOC表示，這是英國第一個具有商業化規模的氫氣加氣站，證明國內企業有能力建置氫燃料動力的基礎措施，同時也需要政府積極配合，協助英國建立全面的氫氣加氣站網絡，讓英國擁有低排放的綠能未來。HONDA也指出氫燃料電池科技不僅滿足環保節能效益，也能夠提供高效性能及各種級距車款，HONDA將持續與BOC和政府合作，讓氫燃料動力成為最終的運輸方案。
2008年投入市場的FCX Clarity是HONDA第一款採用燃料電池的中大型房車，搭載HONDA V Flow FC全新燃料電池，具有體積小、重量輕、耐-30° C低溫、430公里續航距離、燃料使用效率提升20％，最大輸出功率達到136hp，峰值扭力26.1kgm，極速達到160km/h。在行駛過程中所產生的動能便能驅使車輛行進，唯一排放物是純水，對於環境完全不會造成任何污染；煞車或減速時所產生的能量，也會透過CMBS（Collision Mitigation Brake System）儲能煞車系統，達成能源使用的最高境界。
無論電動車、Hybrid車或氫燃料電池動力車，都是以環保節能為目的，FCX Clarity也展現了HONDA的高科技，然而在車價過高、燃料站建置成本高昂且尚未完善的情況下，氫燃料電池車目前仍處於試運行階段，若希望有朝一日能夠普及，和電動車一樣仍是回到那句老話：有賴政府的積極配合與推廣。
