    HONDA加碼投資北美廠5000萬美元,研發鋁製變速箱

鋁合金的可塑性非常高,被廣泛的利用在航太、電子、機械零組件與高科技設備等,而鋁合金的質量輕是一般鋼鐵的三分之一重,現在的汽車產業常常運用鋁合金在車身結構與輪圈上,但並未使用在汽車的內部的零組件,HONDA看準了鋁合金輕的特性,將在俄亥俄州的北美廠擴建並且利用鋁來製造變速箱。

根據HONDA官方消息指出,將投資美國俄亥俄州的廠房5000萬美元,並擴建約20萬平方英尺(6050坪)的廠房,從1996年開始HONDA開始生產自動變速箱,而現在技術與產量也逐漸上升,這次的投資計畫,在研發鋁製的變速箱與增加第三條變速箱的生產線,而這兩個業務加在一起將替當地創造超過100個就業機會。

在這次的投資,HONDA也將導入新的高科技技術在新的廠房,將實施新的熔鍊技術,這項技術可以提高熔鍊的效率並可減少能源的浪費,並且降低環境的污染。

目前HONDA在俄亥俄州的投資已經超過3.5億美元,陸續將建設許多廠房,而這些廠房陸續擴建完工後,俄亥俄州的廠房將成為HONDA在全球最大的汽車零組件生產廠。
