Made in China的美規六代Accord？沒錯！六代Accord已在今年3/26於中國大陸廣州省正式舉行上線儀式，這也是日本本田技研工業開始在中國大陸投資生產新車型的一大突破。
日本本田技研工業株式會社與中國大陸合資生產販售新車型的計畫儼然成行，在大陸當地時間3月26日上午10點30分舉辦乘用車在廣州省的生產上線儀式。由本田技研工業與廣州汽車集團出資合作所成立的廣州本田汽車有限公司負責車輛的生產（資本額1.3944億美金，本田技研與廣州汽車出資比例各半），本田技研並與大陸東風汽車公司合作成立東風本田發動機（引擎）有限公司負責車輛引擎的生產（資本額6006萬美金，出資比例各半），而首部由本田技研、廣州汽車、東風汽車合作生產的車種則是HONDA產品線上赫赫有名的美規六代Accord。
廣州本田汽車公司成立於去年七月，當時已著手乘用車的生產計畫，現階段正式生產的Accord為美規四門車型，'99年度預計生產目標約1萬輛，產能將逐年增加，預計在2001年時將達到年產量3萬輛。生產初期部份零件來源將從日本、美國、泰國、馬來西亞進口，根據大陸方面的汽車工業產業政策規定，今年10月底的汽車零件自製率須達40％以上，而後逐年增加。在銷售通路上預定於'99年底全國將有60個經銷點販售六代Accord，而2000年時的經銷點預計將達100個以上。
