    日本名車系列(340):HONDA EV Plus(1997-1999)

目前電動車可是不少廠商所追求的當紅商品,不過在1997年HONDA便推出EV Plus,雖然並沒有大量生產,卻奠定HONDA在替代性能源發展的基礎,同時也讓民眾能體驗HONDA在電動車領域的實力。

總共生產20輛的EV Plus,是HONDA為了展現高度技術力於1997年所研發的成果,擁有2530mm軸距專屬平台,以及4050×1750×1630mm尺碼,雖說與同品牌小型車Logo身影非常神似,但尺寸上可是大上一號。簡潔的線條所創造的車艙僅能容納四名乘員(但寬敞度不輸給同尺碼小型車,且後座椅背前傾後可形成便利的載物空間),主要是希望能提升續航力和性能,畢竟EV Plus為電動車而非傳統汽油車,在電池技術尚未成熟的時代此乃權宜之策。

動力方面搭載HONDA自行開發的馬達,以及前輪驅動模式,馬達的輸出功率為66.6hp/1700-8750rpm、28.1kgm/0-1700rpm,變速系統則是7.466:1固定齒比的設定,為了降低阻力,特地配置195/65R14的低抗阻輪胎,就原廠測試抗阻係數明顯降低57﹪,也替EV Plus達成220km的續航力(定速40km/h下續航力達350km),至於動力源,則為總計24個Ni-MH電池所組成,當然也符合當時美國和日本的安全標準。

採用前麥弗遜、後拖曳臂懸吊結構的EV Plus,基於科技環保的原則,將HID氣體電式頭燈列為選配,而恆溫空調、SRS氣囊、單片CD音響主機等則是標準配備。不過EV Plus的售價偏高,且每個月須支付日幣26.5萬元(約合新台幣7.9萬元)租金,一次需要租賃三年,就一般民眾來說可是不小的壓力,也因此這20輛EV Plus都由企業所承租,並在1999年停產,而HONDA有了電動車的經驗後,便開始進行日後燃料電池的研發工程。
