雖然Legend是HONDA目前的旗艦，但現行款從2004年10月在日本上市卻叫好不叫座，縱使配置諸多高科技配備，又有提升操控樂趣和安全的SH-AWD，仍無法吸引市場注意，銷售狀況幾乎和超級跑車一樣少，因此HONDA在9月4日推出中度改款Legend，在外觀上似乎更有豪華車的味道，而動力輸出和運轉寧靜平順度，也比小改前要來得進步。
小改款Legend的更動幅度頗大，水箱護罩、頭燈組造型（包角式）、前保險桿氣壩、後尾燈組（上白下紅LED）等均進行修改，原本的跑車味已被高級感所取代，整體的造型也變得更為方正，因此創造出更為氣派的外觀。當然車身長度從4930mm增加了55mm達4985mm，因此為4985×1845×1455mm，若和NISSAN Fuga、LEXUS GS、BMW 5相比競爭力大幅提昇。
2800mm所創造的車室內裝並沒有作太大改變，主要在於細部修飾，並採用質感更好的木紋飾板，此外中控台上的功能鍵位置略作變動，並將類似BMW iDrive的系統列為全車系標準配備；再者能隨著GPS進行風向改變的智慧型空調系統，也是本次Legend小改款的重點。而動力方面是以V6 SOHC VTEC的J35A為基礎，排氣量從3471cc闊缸為3664cc，代號也改為J37A，最大輸出馬力從300hp/6200rpm提升為309hp/6300rpm，扭力表現更從36.0kgm/5000rpm一口氣增加1.7kgm，達37.7kgm，變速箱仍為五速手自排系統，並附上方向盤升降檔功能，在享受舒適豪華之餘還能增加樂趣。雖然小改款Legend排氣量與輸出功率都更大，但卻沒有影響到油耗經濟性，甚至還比原本的表現更好，據資料顯示3.5升引擎的平均油耗為每公升8.6公里，而新 J37A則進步到8.8公里，這證明HONDA的技術力還是頗為驚人。當然原廠最引以為傲的SH-AWD四輪驅動系統，和前雙A臂、後多連桿懸吊系統也依然是Legend的標準行頭。
在安全配備部分，ACC車距定速巡航、LKAS車道偏離警告、AFS頭燈轉向、VSA車輛動態穩定系統、智慧型夜視功能、Motion Adaptive EPS動態穩定防滑循跡系統、ABS/EBD、SRS氣囊與氣簾、彈跳式引擎蓋等，全部都在Legend的防護範疇內。
車型等級共有基本款、L、I的Legend，售價分別為日幣555萬圓（新台幣179萬元）、605萬圓（新台幣195萬元）、665萬圓（新台幣215萬元），另外還有強調個人化跑格的Euro S、Euro L，配置245/45R18的輪胎，且內裝顏色清一色提供黑色，並能搭配各種飾板，售價為日幣593萬圓（新台幣191萬元）、635萬圓（新台幣205萬元），至於台灣是否會引進，以現階段市場買氣低迷下，恐怕短期內不會出現。
